The Silver Beaver Award is the council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service.
Note that this is a Council level award, but nominations are sought from the District. The nomination form for the award may be downloaded here.
To nominate a Scouter for this award, download the form and fully complete it, showing the tenure, service and accomplishments both in Scouting and in the Community. A record of service showing positions held and dates. You should be able to list the training courses completed by the nominee as well as Scouting Honors received by the nominee, such as a Scoutmaster Award of Merit or a Commissioner’s Arrowhead Honor.
A substantial amount of research should be expected to complete the nominations form. The Council has a limited number of Silver Beaver forms it can award in any given year, so only the most deserving candidates, judged on the content of the nomination form submitted, will receive the award. Nominees who are submitted but not selected may be submitted in subsequent years, but a new nomination form must be submitted to the Council each year to be considered.
Completed forms should be submitted by April 1, 2015 via email to email@example.com or by mailing to:
